(July 27, 2023) – Patricia Harrison, President and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), made the following statement today on the Senate  Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies (Labor-H) Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 funding bill, which provides $535 million for CPB's FY 2026 advance appropriation and $60 million for system interconnection and infrastructure for FY 2024.

  • CPB Statement on House Labor-H Subcommittee Funding Bill

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 14, 2023) – Patricia Harrison, President and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), made the following statement today on the House Appropriations Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies (Labor-H) Subcommittee’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 funding bill, which does not include legislative text for CPB or advance funding for CPB in FY 2026. The bill also does not fund system interconnection and infrastructure for FY 2024, a cut of $60 million from current levels.

  • CPB Names Faisal Khan Executive Director, Next Generation Warning System

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 22, 2023) – The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has named Faisal Khan as Executive Director of the Next Generation Warning System, effective immediately. He will lead CPB’s work with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in implementing the Next Generation Warning System (NGWS) grant program to create a more resilient and secure public alerting system through our nation’s public media system.
