    WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 25, 2025) — Through a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), StoryCorps has announced four new public radio stations as part of its One Small Step initiative, which helps bridge partisan divides through civil conversations. 

  • CPB Statement on House Approval of Rescissions Package

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 12, 2025) -- Patricia Harrison, President and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), issued the following statement today on the U.S. House of Representatives’ approval of the rescissions package to claw back $1.1 billion of already appropriated funding for CPB for fiscal years 2026 and 2027. The rescissions package now goes to the Senate. 

  • CPB Awards $105,000 Grant to Blue Ridge Public Radio for Hurricane Helene Recovery Reporting

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 10, 2025) – The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has awarded a $105,330 grant to Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR) to support reporting on local and regional recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene. The 18-month grant will fund a full-time reporter, editing capacity, travel, and equipment.

  • Court Recognizes CPB’s Independence; Board Members Remain

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 8, 2025) -- U.S. District Court Judge Randolph Moss today recognized the independence of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) stating that  “Congress intended to preclude the President (or any subordinate officials acting at his direction) from directing, supervising, or controlling the Corporation” given that it was established to be a private nonprofit corporation independent from governmental control or influence. The Court further recognized that under the D.C.
