Washington, D.C. (December 12, 2025) — The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) today announced a $1 million grant to WAMU 88.5 American University Radio (Washington D.C.) in support of 1A, the daily, two-hour news and public affairs program heard nationally.
BOSTON (February 10, 2021) –– PRX, PBS KIDS, and CPB today announced the Ready To Learn Podcast Accelerator, a podcast training and development program for producers creating educational content for kids. One podcast from the training will be distributed by PBS KIDS. The program is made possible by a Ready To Learn grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

Fred Rogers Productions, the award-winning children’s entertainment company behind the much-loved, Emmy-winning PBS KIDS series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Odd Squad, and Peg + Cat, has secured a $3 million, multi-year funding grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) for Donkey Hodie. The highly anticipated, multiplatform puppet series for preschoolers, which is produced by Fred Rogers Productions and Spiffy Pictures (Nature Cat), launches May 3, 2021, on PBS KIDS.
January 27, 2021 -- Cindy Putman, Ready To Learn Project Manager at WCTE Central Tennessee PBS in Cookeville, Tennessee, was named recipient of the 2021 Bobbi English Champion for Children Award from Sesame Workshop, PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). The award, recognizing Putman for her dedication to the enrichment and engagement of children in their local community, includes $15,000, funded by Sesame Workshop, for WCTE to be used to support early childhood work that reaches underserved children in vulnerable communities.

(December 2, 2020) -- The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has promoted Kathryn Washington to the position of Senior Vice President, Television Content, effective December 19. In this role, Washington will lead the development and implementation of strategies for CPB's investments in mission-focused television and digital productions. She will work closely with PBS, public television stations and independent production organizations to support innovative, diverse and creative programming and content for national public media audiences.
