Washington, D.C. (December 12, 2025) — The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) today announced a $1 million grant to WAMU 88.5 American University Radio (Washington D.C.) in support of 1A, the daily, two-hour news and public affairs program heard nationally.
Arlington, VA (November 16, 2022) – Sharon Rockefeller, President and CEO of WETA and President of NewsHour Productions, today named PBS NewsHour chief correspondent Amna Nawaz and chief Washington correspondent and PBS News Weekend anchor Geoff Bennett co-anchors of the nightly newscast. The PBS NewsHour, co-anchored by Nawaz and Bennett, will launch on Monday, January 2, 2023. Nawaz and Bennett succeed Judy Woodruff, who has solo-anchored PBS’s nightly news broadcast since 2016, prior to which she co-anchored it alongside the late Gwen Ifill.
ARLINGTON, VA (November 11, 2022) – Anchor and managing editor Judy Woodruff today announces her intent to step aside from the PBS NewsHour anchor desk on Friday, December 30, 2022, and to begin work on a two-year project to understand better how the American people see their country and whether today’s deep political divisions can be healed. Woodruff will devote 2023 and 2024 to this national reporting project, "Judy Woodruff Presents: America at a Crossroads."

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 1, 2022) -- The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and PBS today announced collaborations with 24 public media stations across the country to develop Learning Neighborhoods, an innovative model of community engagement designed to extend the reach and impact of Ready To Learn-funded PBS KIDS early learning resources to local communities. Each station will each receive approximately $10,000 to develop a Learning Neighborhood plan through the CPB-PBS Ready To Learn Initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
